Developing Human Capitol for the Pork Industry, National Pork Board - 2008
Conducted up-front needs analysis to determine leadership skills needed by producer-leaders. Prototyped and developed the template for a scenario-based learning module on soft-skills. Led team of four instructional designers in scripting and developing four scenario-based modules for pork producers. Also developed three short FAQ modules including: Boards and Committees, Staff's Role with Boards and Committees and Login and Navigation of Pork Connection Portal.
Advisor Essentials Training Library, SkillsUSA—2008
As part of this project I led project team in designing and producing 14 online modules for advisors who are new to the SkillsUSA student organization using Articulate™ rapid‐development software. The sample provided is a link to the training library on the client’s Web site. I personally developed the modules titled What’s In It For My Local Community and What is Champions for Change.
Single Family Rural Housing New Employee Training, USDA & ABG, Inc—2007
In this project I personally designed a 14 module course for new employees with USDA Single Family Rural Housing Service. The sample provided is one storyboard created for a module included in the course.
Performance Through Learning Project, Adayana—2007
I was hired as a freelance instructional designer to author four, 3‐credit‐hour online courses for corporate sponsored workforce development project at rural universities in India on: speech development and delivery; time management and teamwork. The sample provided is one detailed content outline and instructional media plan created for the project.
Chapter Leader Training Conference – Nebraska/Kansas FFA Associations—2007
I was hired as a freelance writer to design a 16-session, instructor-led curriculum for 3 day training conference for high school students on developing an organizational program of work and leadership. The sample provided are lesson plans created for second day of the three day conference.
Course Depth of Knowledge and Science and Mathematics Content Analysis, Project Lead The Way, 2008
In this project, I designed and conducted an analysis of the Introduction to Engineering™ course objectives using Webb’s (1997) Depth of Knowledge Model and National Content Standards for Mathematics and Science. Project Lead The Way, Inc. uses the report to communicate with school administrators and other stakeholders regarding the rigor reflected in the intended course curriculum.

As part of a graduate course on advanced instructional design theories I created a series of executive summaries regarding eight current ID theoretical perspectives. The summaries provide my personal insights regarding the application of the theories to everyday instructional design problems.
Online Course Development Individual Project—2007
As part of a graduate course on principles of adult learning I outlined the steps I took to design an online course for the USDA. Additionally, in the report, I reflect upon the application of principles for adult learning throughout the e-learning course.
